Clean-Up at Reed Recreational Field (CR-526 & Easterly By-Pass Spur) Netted Lots of Garbage... + Crayfish !

May 8, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon -- The "stream" (actually, a drainage swale) clean-up took place at the Reed Recreational Field at the Easterly By-Pass. Three (3) people from the EAC participated; Jen Coffey, Marc Covitz, and Mike Renzulli. The debris in the swale that was removed amounted to about 10 bags of garbage and recyleables along with an old pallet and an old green tarp. Two crayfish were caught by Mike Renzulli for the enjoyment of his young boys. Thanks to all who took the time to engage in this township-sponsored clean-up effort at one of our newest recreation areas!

Monmouth County Shade Tree Commission has planted a buffer of high-quality tree and shrub stock along the Reed Recreational Field on the By-Pass spur. This is a significant start to the development of an environmentally-sensitive plan for this new recreation facility.
